Today Show anchor Billy Bush recently lost his job after a recording from a lewd 2005 conversation he had with Donald Trump surfaced. Now it looks like the unemployed anchor will be giving up his recently purchased townhouse in the Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea.
Certain reports dispute the fact that the home was actually owned by Bush. According to city records, the home was apparently purchased in December 2015 by a trust from the Bush clan—either Bush’s father, Jonathan, who is the younger brother of 41st president George H.W. Bush, or Billy’s brother Jonathan, who serves as the CEO at athenahealth, a cloud-based healthcare services provider.
The home actually appears to have been on the market since April, with an original asking price of $8.995 million. Assuming Billy has been living in the townhouse, perhaps the Bushes merely dropped the ask by $600,000 once it became clear they’d no longer have a relative in town who could use the spare pad.
The previous owners, Steven Ostad and Andre Sakhai of Empire City Realty, had been finishing a dramatic renovation since selling to the Bush clan, turning it from apartments into a five-bedroom with 7,000 square feet of space in total and tapping architect Eran Chan to lead the project.
Billy had been living in an apartment while the renovation continued.
