Hollywood superstar Tobey Maguire, known for his role as Spiderman prior to Andrew Garfield’s turn with the hero, and jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer recently went through an amicable split. The couple will now split the proceeds of the house they shared in Santa Monica, which they’ve placed on the market for $2.995 million.
The 2,400-square-foot main home includes three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths, while two other structures sit on the property, holding 1,200 square feet of live/work space.
They purchased the 1920-built Spanish bungalow less than six months ago for $2.675 million. The updated look is due to a renovation led by contemporary architect Ruben S. Ojeda.
The main living spaces include thin plank wood floors, with the soaring living/dining room getting an exposed wooden ceiling and the cozy den separated from the kitchen by a pony wall. Stylishly minimalist wood cabinets sit atop the kitchen’s green office tiles, while yellow Spanish tiles in the guest bathroom manage a humble elegance. One of the guest rooms includes ceiling height windows with views of the grounds, while another comes with artwork by painter Mark Ryden.
Bedrooms on the upper floor include custom built-ins and French door access to the home’s wide veranda. There’s also a detached garage and a long driveway within the property’s bounding gates.
