Anyone with children knows that sleep is a sacred and often scarce commodity, which is exactly what Yves Behar took into account when creating the Snoo smart crib.
The new bassinet isn’t just stylish, it actually rocks a baby to sleep using a “womb-like motion,” which in turn might give mom or dad a few more precious moments of sleep.
Dubbed the first smart sleeper, the Snoo crib has speakers, sensors, and microphones built into its structure. Those high-tech elements allow it to detect cries or movement and then to begin its soothing rocking movement.
The crib also comes with a companion app so parents can more closely monitor and review their baby’s sleep patterns.
Of course, with a five-year design process, the style was considered, too. The lozenge-shaped crib features white textile mesh sides, a mattress set in the wood surround, and a cotton swaddle designed to help the baby sleep in a position that’s reminiscent of the womb.
