Hollywood executive Andrew Scheinman, who’s helped produce movies such as When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, Stand By Me and Misery is now taking a shot at producing a real estate sale. The writer-producer recently listed a spec-built home in Bel Air for a cool $11.495 million.
Scheinman reportedly bought the property for $2.931 million back in 2013, removing a 3,600-square-foot mid-century modern home to make way for the 6,020-square-foot multi-level he has now listed.
The three-story house has an up-to-the-minute contemporary feel but with a more relaxed tan-and-white palette than you tend to see in modern interiors. The result is the right mix of livability and modernity, with a white quartzite fireplace butting up against a wooden wall insert in the living room; quartzite counters and acrylic bar seating accented by a veined stone backsplash and white oak cabinets in the kitchen; and a steel-and-glass railing lining the open-tread wood staircase.
A media lounge includes two tiers of seating, plush carpet and built-in wood cabinetry, while the master suite includes a stone-faced fireplace, floor-to-ceiling sliding glass walls leading to the glass-railed balcony, a walk-in closet with custom built-ins and a bathroom featuring a glass-framed steam shower and a soaking tub.
An irregular-yet-geometric swimming pool is joined in the backyard by an oversized spa, a fire pit and a grilling station with a pizza oven.
Scheinman was the producer of the popular Seinfeld television series from 1991 to 1993.
