The New York Knicks re-signed Lou Amundson to a one-year, $1.5 million contract last month. Between that and his California home sale, Amundson may be looking at a lucrative season. The 6-foot-9 center-forward listed a home in his native state of California for $2.155 million.
Located in Manhattan Beach’s “Tree Section” neighborhood (so named for the street names and a strict ordinance forbidding the removal of trees from private property), the 1981-built home has sort of a Mid-Century Modern lodge feel to it, with a teak-clad garage at the street-front next to a wide-plank walkway that leads to the home’s front door.
Frosted glass doors greet guests at the front of the home, with a simple, darkly tiled entry furnished with a sleek bench. In all, the home comes with 2,536-square-feet of modern space with a total of three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Stainless steel appliances—including an under-counter wine refrigerator—are joined by stainless countertops in the modern kitchen, and the formal dining room gets a chic look from its curvy chandelier and black-rimmed wicker dining chairs. Finishes in the living spaces include light hardwood, slate tile and carpeting in the bedrooms, with the master coming with a walk-in closet and an exquisitely wood-adorned ensuite bathroom.
Amundson, who’s played for 10 teams in 10 seasons in the NBA, has played for the New York Knicks for the last two years, with 4.2 rebounds and 4.3 points per game.
