Executive producer, director, and investment pro Jim Glickenhaus has always been known for his avid collection of custom and rare vehicles. He can also add his own brand of cars to his list of accomplishments.
Now Glickenhaus has revealed the plans for the first street-worthy sports car that bears his name, the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus 003S or SCG003S. The “S” at the end stands for Stradale, denoting the vehicle is made for public roads. The SCG003S is essentially a more basic version of the SCG003C, with the “C” meaning Competizione for the track-only Glickenhaus car.
The design of the SCG003S takes its cues from the cars that roar around the track in the LMP1 series of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The aerodynamic design comes complete with a wraparound windshield, a large wing on the rear, and a central fin.
The Stradale can almost keep pace with the cars that take the famed track, too, thanks to a 4.4-liter, V8 engine that makes 750 horsepower. That is enough power to send the SCG003S from zero-to-62 mph in under 3 seconds and to reach a top speed of 217 mph.
While figures on the weight have not been released, it is known that the Glickenhaus street-legal beast will be made out of carbon fiber.
Glickenhaus plans on debuting the SCG003S at next year’s Geneva Auto Show, with the extremely limited handmade production of the vehicle beginning next summer in Turin, Italy.
