After a long day’s work and often a short night’s sleep, it’s all too easy to hit the snooze button. However, the new Kello smart alarm clock has been created to help users maintain both a better sleep schedule and a better relationship with their alarm clock.
Kello aims to reduce snooze, increase sleep quality, and even help customers to wake up earlier with a much gentler approach than expected from alarm clocks. For example, the clock has a unique “Deep Sleep” feature that uses slowly pulsing light to encourage users to fall asleep faster by mimicking breathing.
There’s even a “Snooze Less” feature that’s been added to train sleepers to avoid the snooze by allowing them to set a total snooze limit for the week. If that number is surpassed, Kello gets a bit more insistent with louder sounds, playlist changes, and even lights.
Various technologies like a “Wake Up Earlier” function, a jet lag preparation/recovery setting, Deezer, Spotify, and even simple automation tasks (like triggering a smart coffeemaker to start brewing) have also been integrated to offer a wholly better sleep experience.
Kello’s Kickstarter campaign is still going strong after receiving $322,747, which is significantly more than its $50,000 goal. Interested customers can get their own alarm clock for $89, with shipping scheduled for March 2017.
