Musician, actor, designer, and avid timepiece collector Lenny Kravitz and his Kravitz Design has teamed up with Les Artisans de Genève to create a tuned up Rolex Daytona Ref. 116523 dubbed the LK 01 watch.

Like a tuner does with automobiles, Les Artisans de Genève takes watches that have already been produced then tweaks and supes them up to become even more iconic.

The LK 01 takes the Daytona and delivers a rock-and-roll vibe with a DLC-coated reiteration featuring a military cuff leather strap as opposed to the oyster bracelet Rolex gave the watch. The whole package even coming in a leather case that mimics that of a roadie case seen backstage at one of Kravitz’s shows.

Les Artisans de Genève and Kravitz Design didn’t mess with the workings off the Rolex caliber 4130 movement, which boasts a 72-hour power reserve that came in the source Daytona. However, the duo did mess with many other aspects surrounding the heart of the watch.

A black DLC treatment was given to the 40mm case, with a new handmade Bakelite golden bezel. The movement has been blacked out and made visible via a new exhibition caseback with the 22-carat gold rotor offsetting the black brilliantly.

The band on the LK 01 is entirely new and made from Barenia calf leather. It features a military cuff design that adds both style and functionality to the timepiece.

The leather roadie case of the bespoke watch is a Bluetooth JBL speaker and when paired with the watch, Kravitz Design and Les Aritsans de Genève are calling the combination “Travel With Music.”

Production of the Les Artisans de Genève X Kravitz Design LK 01 Rolex Daytona will be limited to only 55 examples with a price tag of around $41,500 each.
