Director Arthur Hiller directed over 30 films, including Love Story; The In-Laws; and See No Evil, Hear No Evil in the span of a 50-year career before dying this past August at the age of 92. Now, his Beverly Hills home has been placed on the market with an ask of $16.5 million.
Sitting on just over an acre of property, the 1970-built Mediterranean is distinguished out front by a three-car garage, a beamed overhang, a pink stucco façade and tile roofs. Inside, the home features 7,942 square feet of living spaces, with a foyer paneled in framed wood and featuring antique side tables and a wine cabinet.
Window-heavy living areas, including a step-down living room with fireplace, a den with built-in bookshelves and another formal living area with velvet couches that’s practically a sun room, ensure oodles of natural light, while the formal dining room goes heavy on the ornament, with a stately chandelier and ornate wall treatments and gold-framed mirrors.
The kitchen is all contemporary, with dark shaker cabinets, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances to match the lighting fixture and there’s also a second, more modern formal dining room with sliding glass doors and a speckled stone floor.
Neighbors in the ultra-exclusive neighborhood include casino owner Steve Wynn, director Brett Ratner and producer Allan Carr.
Hiller’s estate is also in charge of a three-bedroom in Century City that the director reportedly purchased for $535,000 in 1988.
