Singer-songwriter and actress Mandy Moore, known for roles in A Walk to Remember, Saved!, Because I Said So and Disney’s Rapunzel recently sold her home in Los Feliz for a reported $2.95 million. Moore had called the 1927-built Mediterranean home for over a decade.
The front door, perched atop a vanishing staircase and behind wrought-iron gates, opens to reveal a magnesite staircase with step-up living areas through arches of varying angles.
A formal dining room features a chandelier and hardwood floors with wood-framed French doors opening to the side yard, while an informal dining room gets a more humble ironwork chandelier with crossed beams exposed in the ceiling. The kitchen sees butcher-block counters that match the cabinets, stainless steel appliances and a diamond tiled backsplash. There’s also an oversized island with bar seating for three.
Ornate stampings in the rolled ceiling of the den/office rescue the room from drabness, though a dinky chandelier leaves much to be desired. In the living room, a tiled fireplace sits beneath a carved stone mantle, and beamed ceilings echo the hardwood floors. Here sits a much more substantial chandelier, in addition to wood-framed French doors opening to the backyard.
Moore, who got her start in the middle of the Britney Spears-Christina Aguilera war of the late ‘90s, has released six studio albums, but mainly turned her attention to acting after a small role voicing a bear cub in 2001’s Dr. Dolittle 2.
