The actress-author and granddaughter of writer Ernest Hemingway, Mariel Hemingway, has just sold her Los Angeles-area home for $1.65 million.
Located near the star-studded city of Calabasas in the unincorporated neighborhood of Monte Nido, the 1959-build ranch-style house is set behind private gates and surrounded by mature oaks.
First listed earlier this year for $1.95 million, it looks like the property was unloaded for less than Hemingway originally hoped. However, with unique features like an outdoor gym, a teepee, a saltwater swimming pool, and a climbing wall, the new owner certainly got a steal.
The home itself sports stone-and-wood beams, a dining space, a living room with a fireplace, and a sunroom, in addition to its three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The new owner will also enjoy the sliding glass doors that open to an expansive wrap-around porch. From there, one can enjoy views of the Santa Monica Mountains or opt to walk out toward the fruit trees, organic garden beds, and chicken coop.
Hemingway is the author of three books and has also starred in movies like “Lipstick” and “Manhattan,” even earning an Oscar nomination for the latter.
