Shortly after listing a penthouse apartment he purchased last year, Tinder co-founder and CEO Sean Rad was revealed as the buyer of a 5,085-square-foot house above the Sunset Strip. The exquisitely landscaped and ivy-draped home isn’t just any old mansion, though. It was previously owned by Paul Hanneman, the departing president of worldwide marketing and distribution for 20th Century Fox Film.
Fronted by a pair of 14-foot tall iron gates, the European-inspired manse opens to a foyer with a curlicue staircase and a fun chandelier, past which sits a 50-foot-long formal living room fronted by a carved fireplace.
A parlor includes a wet bar and glossy wood wall panels, while a contemporary den features tan walls, a more modern fireplace and windows that reach from the floor to the soffit ceiling. Sky blue built-ins give the family room a cozy feel, while the dining room sports another “fun” chandelier—this one in a starburst shape.
In the kitchen, guests will find a butcher block-topped center island, slate floors, a stainless stove-and-hood combo and an office nook. There’s also an informal dining area off to the side. In all, there are four bedrooms including staff quarters, while out back a gas fire pit, a grilling station, a swimming pool and a spa are surrounded by lemon trees, raised planter beds and extra-tall hedges.
