Cal Ripken Jr. is putting an end to a 31-year-long streak, listing his 24-acre estate in suburban Maryland recently for a reported $12.5 million. The former Baltimore Orioles shortstop was renowned as an ironman during his playing days, playing in a record 2,632 straight Orioles games between 1982 and 1998.

The main home in Ripken’s listing is a staggering 25,000 square feet, with six bedrooms and ten bathrooms, and was custom-built for the former shortstop in 1985. It reportedly saw a renovation in the late ‘90s, a little bit before Ripken’s 2001 retirement.

Past a long drive sit the home’s circular motor court and a large, tiled patio, which opens to a luxurious foyer featuring a sweeping spiral staircase in both directions and ornate accents. Gilded-look curtains and wallpaper, as well as elegantly mantled fireplaces throughout give an opulent French air to the home, while the home’s themed theatre updates the European influence with an Art Deco flair.

Timber ceilings offer a mountain chalet look to the home gym and indoor basketball court, and there’s even a replica locker room set up as a living space—the perfect place to relax after batting practice in the the home’s cages or a game on the full-sized baseball diamond.

Other notable details include a glass-fronted fridge in the well-appointed chef’s kitchen, a sunken concrete deck with a large swimming pool and a private dock.
