The Los Angeles property that once belonged to Hollywood actress Mae Murray is now available for $1.749 million.

Murray, who was best known as the silent film star with the “bee-stung lips,” surely enjoyed the expansive 1924-built Italian Revival style home. The turreted three-story spans almost 3,300 square feet with the undeniable air of an era long past.

Features like vintage accents, arched entryways, hardwood floors, and Saltillo tile add charm to the home, while a Batchelder tile fireplace, a wall of Palladian windows with stained glass, and a barrel roll ceiling all increase the luxury appeal of the house’s interior spaces.

Its next owner will find plenty of space in the home—last sold in 1997 for $530,000. Living areas include an office/den area, formal dining room, kitchen complete with a center island, breakfast nook, four bedrooms, and four bathrooms.

The backyard is charming too, with several patios and a rooftop terrace featuring views of the ocean and downtown. And there are even unique heart-shaped stepping stones marking the front yard. They were supposedly offered to the actress by one of her suitors.

Murray made her silent film debut in the 1916 flick, “To Have and To Hold.” She went on to star in upwards of 40 movies, including “The Gilded Lily” and “The Delicious Little Devil.”
