Bubba Watson, winner of the 2012 and 2014 Masters tournament, has given up his lakefront home in Windermere, Florida. One of the PGA’s few lefties scored a quick $4.2 million for the half-acre property in a private golf club community, and it’s a prime home for the golf-minded: just the like the Masters, it was owned by Tiger Woods prior to Watson’s time with it.
Among the amenities in the 8,000-square-foot home are a home theater with two-level seating, a game room chock full of arcade games (including, naturally, Golden Tee) and a sleek Killerspin ping pong table as its centerpiece, a living room with soaring ceilings, a home office, a formal dining room and a family room.
There are also seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a private dock, a swimming pool with an adjacent spa and a two-story covered back patio. The eat-in kitchen includes hardwood floors and matching plank ceilings, as well as white shaker cabinets and a lovely geometric backsplash, while its attached breakfast nook sits just next to the home’s staircase and features a unique globe-shaped chandelier.
In the master suite, a vault-like walk-in closet has plenty of room for golf cleats, while the bedroom itself has exposed beam ceilings, a sitting area and outdoor access through glass doors.
Watson, who purchased the home in 2013, listed it last year for $5.6 million. The asking price was dropped more recently to $4.975 million. He has earned more than $3.2 million this year on the PGA Tour.
