Diamondback Bicycles is a brand known for mountain and BMX bikes, but what the Kent, Washington-based company has been delving into recently is the top-of-the-line road bike market.

For the upcoming IRONMAN World Championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Diamondback has revealed that it will unleash its Andean triathlon bike, which it is calling the world’s fastest.

Backing up the lofty claim, Diamondback’s new Andean bike will be ridden by multiple IRONMAN champ and Olympian Michael Weiss.

The Andean was created by Diamondback and Kevin Quan Studios, undergoing multiple wind tunnel tests at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies over the past two years to masterfully shape and develop the carbon-fiber framed beast.

Diamondback’s Andean is currently available for pre-order with sales only being made by direct order and deliveries beginning in January 2017. The base model comes with a SRAM Force X1 drivetrain and HED Ardennes Plus wheels with a $4,800 price tag. A premium Shimano edition with a Dura-Ace Di2 drivetrain, Dura-Ace hydraulic disc brakes, and HED Jet Black 9 wheels is also available for $8,070.
