Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent, known for their design prowess and hosting duties on the home improvement shows American Dream Builders (Berkus) and the Emmy-winning Home Made Simple (Brent), recently listed a Hollywood Hills residence with some of their famous touches. The couple is asking $2.995 million for the 1920s-era Spanish abode.
Formerly home to playwright John Wexley and, later, Hollywood heavyweight producer Frank Konigsberg, the 3,600-square-foot house features five bedrooms and five baths.
Berkus and Brent purchased the home last year for $2.36 million and recently completed a remodel with a sort of “rattan contemporary” vibe, complete with light wood floors, whited out walls, trellised balconies, Roman shades and wicker light fixtures.
Ornately carved doorways lead from the front entry to the downstairs living spaces, with a fireplace-equipped living room, a formal dining room and a white granite-countered kitchen with white cabinets built around windows and a wall of built-in shelving. There’s also a second living area, a home office/den and a private patio off the upstairs master suite, which includes a bathroom dominated by square tiles in—guess what color—white.
A pergola connects the garage and studio space to the main home, and the multi-level backyard features a swimming pool and spa, a Saltillo tile patio, raised garden beds and stone pathways.
In addition to their previous television gigs, Berkus and Brent are soon to be featured in a TLC show, Married to Design: Nate & Jeremiah.
