Roger Ailes, the embattled former Fox News chief and much talked-about advisor to the Donald Trump campaign, is looking to sell two Garrison, New York homes that make up part of a compound that stretches over 20 acres. After being accused of sexual harassment by a number of female Fox News employees, Ailes resigned his posts as CEO and chairman of the cable news giant in July.
The larger of the homes—a mid-century modern three-bedroom—cost the media tycoon $1.2 million when he bought it in 2007. Its 2,900 square feet include open living spaces, unfinished wood floors and plank ceilings, a three-sided stone fireplace and an indoor rock garden with a quartet of beech trees. A chandeliered formal dining room includes French doors to the concrete wraparound deck, while the kitchen includes stainless steel appliances that include an under-counter wine refrigerator. Outdoors, a small swimming pool features a waterfall function and stacked stone adorns one wall of the covered lower-level patio.
That property was originally listed in 2014 for $1.47 million, and sits now at a bit more than half the original ask: at $885,000.
The smaller home cost Ailes $1.65 million in 2008. He’s now looking to get $925,000 for the cedar-sided two-bedroom. Dark plank ceilings, exposed brickwork and hardwood and tile floors are just some of the home’s amenities, while the façade is dominated by a two-level sunroom overlooking the home’s sundeck and oversized swimming pool.
All told, Ailes is looking at a loss of over a million dollars on the property sales.
