The 3Doodler 3D printing pen first took Kickstarter by storm as the world’s first 3D pen.
Since then, WobbleWorks Inc., the company responsible for the pen, has created the skinnier 3Doodler Create and the 3Doodler Start, the latter of which is a children’s version. Recently at the IFA electronics fair in Berlin, Germany, the 3Doodler Pro—a decked-out version of the original 3D pen—was released.
The basic use of the Pro is the same as its predecessor, turning thermoplastic sticks into a liquid form that dries quickly, allowing the user to make 3D forms.
However, now the 3Doodler Pro offers owners the ability to use a wider range of materials and to change the speed, the heat at which the materials come out, and the fan speed used for hardening to offer maximum control over what is being created.
On top of the thermoplastic colors, the 3Doodler Pro can print with nylon, polycarbonate filament, wood composite, and bronze composite.
The 3Doodler Pro is available for $249 at stores like the MoMA Design Store, Amazon, Macy’s, Barnes & Noble, and, of course, 3DoodlerPro.com.
