Glenda Rovello has just put her newly built Santa Monica home on the market for a smidge under $5 million.
The four-time Emmy-winning production designer’s home is located just 10 minutes from the beach in the ritzy Rustic Canyon area. Rovello purchased the home in late 2014 for just under $1.9 million.
The designer opted to demolish the 1950s cottage that once stood on the plot in favor of a new 3,400-square-foot home designed by her husband, architect Scott Prentice. Prentice, whose practice is based in Santa Monica, designed the unique home with a chic, modern farmhouse aesthetic with four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
Unique features include accents like a large skylight, vaulted wood ceilings, a combination living/dining room, and seal-gray polished concrete floors. The small TV lounge and adjoining office connect seamlessly to the breakfast room that boasts bright floor-to-ceiling windows.
Rovello’s work will be on display in the upcoming Joel McHale show, “The Great Indoors.”
