Klever Mobility debuted its new X series of rear-motored electric bicycles at Eurobike 2016, the same event where its S25 and B25 stole the show with award after award back in 2013.
The new X e-bikes are easily recognizable thanks to Klever’s decision to ditch the basic diamond frame and create a distinguishable pentagonal one designed to serve both male and female riders.
Of course, all of the cables and wiring have been hidden in the tubing of the X series bikes, including the “swap & go” removable and rechargeable battery housed in one of the loops of the frame.
There are four X series models with different specs and price tags ranging from $3,700 to $5,615. All four versions include an electronic motor lock, an electronic alarm, a 2.2-inch Bluetooth-ready LCD screen, a companion app, 27.5-inch wheels, and hydraulic disc brakes.
The X Speed ($5,470) is the fastest in the group, an 11-speed with a 600-watt motor that is capable of reaching speeds up to 28 mph with a range of 18 to 43 miles.
The X Limited Edition ($5,615) has a smaller 250 W motor that propels the e-bike up to 15.5 mph, which is the same used in the less expensive variants, but does include a larger battery pack for a range of 40 to 62 miles and various upgraded features like Shimano’s new XT Di2 electronic shifting.
The X Raw ($3,700) is a single speed option and the X Commuter ($4,040) is a 10-speed option that both boasts a battery with a range of 31 to 43 miles and the above-mentioned motor.
