Lamborghini’s Centenario Roadster has long been awaited, and after making its debut at Monterey Car Week, it doesn’t disappoint.
Only a few details have been revealed about the new Lambo, and they put the vehicle squarely in the hypercar category. The Centenario Roadster gains its power from the same V12 engine found in the coupe edition, so it’s capable of making 770 horses and 507 lb-ft of torque.
Those powerful specs mean the Lamborghini can dash from zero-to-62 mph in only 2.0 seconds, with a top speed of more than 217 mph.
All that power is matched by a beautiful exterior with an angular and muscular body. Finished in a specially developed paint called “Argento Centenario,” the matte finish wasn’t easy to develop. In fact, according to Lamborghini, it was carefully crafted in a process that “dissolves the metal while diluting and diminishing the appearance of the metal grain giving it a silky and rich exterior finish.”
The interior cabin is optimized for top-down cruising with a channel in the rear wall that allows air to move without causing too much turbulence in the cabin.
Lamborghini is only creating 20 examples of the new Centenario Roadster. The price tag reads $2,264,600.
