It was another Olympics, another major haul for Michael Phelps in Rio this year—only this time Phelps has a swanky new Arizona pad to bring his medals back to: a $2.5 million estate he purchased in December of last year.
As you’d expect, the 6,010-square-foot home in Scottsdale comes with a resort-style pool (surrounded by a large outdoor living area that also features a hot tub). With plenty of privacy and stunning views of Camelback Mountain, the home—which Phelps bought shortly after its construction—is the perfect southwestern escape for the winningest Olympic athlete of all time and his growing family. In May, Phelps and his fiancée Nicole Johnson welcomed their firstborn son Boomer.
Amenities at the five-bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom property include four fireplaces, imported hardwood and European stone floors, state-of-the-art appliances, custom lighting, a hand-set Concha stone patio, and fruit trees lining the back of the property.
A tray ceiling in the kitchen surrounds a quartet of skylights over top of a center island that comes complete with bar seating, while living and dining areas are topped by a vaulted ceiling and separated by a two-way fireplace. The sunny den is set up as a home office in the listing photos, but as for the family’s personal touches, Phelps seemed noncommittal in a January interview. “We may do like a global theme, like a world map, something like that . . . or we want to do a water theme. We have a couple of things in mind.”
With 23 Olympic wins to his name and a net worth estimated at $55 million, we think Phelps can do whatever he likes.
