Les Ateliers Louis Moinet’s new Memoris Red Eclipse watch is a super exclusive timepiece created to help the Swiss brand celebrate the 200th anniversary of the invention of the chronograph by its namesake, Louis Moinet.

Louis Moinet will reveal the Red Eclipse at a special event called the “200 Years in 24 Hours” at the Neuchatel Observatory on September 16. At the celebratory event, the special watch will be revealed and guests will be able to watch the lunar eclipse.

The Red Eclipse joins Louis Moinet’s two other Memoris watches to celebrate the 200th birthday of the chronograph, with BaselWorld and SIHH serving as the platforms for the Swiss maker’s new timepieces.

Like the other Memoris watches, the Red Eclipse is a monopusher chronograph that boasts a visible movement via the front of the timepiece. The rest of the automatic movement is built around the column-wheel chronograph that captivates the eye when the pusher is pressed down.

Louis Moinet has surrounded the fascinating interior of this timepiece with a white gold case, bezel, and screws. The Memoris Red Eclipse is set to retail for $99,500.
