Orlando Scandrick, the Dallas Cowboys’ cornerback who sat out last year with ACL and MCL tears, has been on the come up since his injury last August. He’s played well so far in preseason work, perhaps because he’s got that whole offseason living situation under control.
After putting his home in the Woodland Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles up for sale in August, he’s locked down his new digs across town: a Riveria-style chalet with a stacked stone frontispiece in the residential neighborhood of Tarzana. Custom wrought-iron distinguishes the two-story threshold as well as a quartet of window balconies and a drive-through archway leading to the home’s back motor court.
Built in 1998, the French chateau-inspired two-story has around 6,400 square feet of interior space, starting with the double-height, double-staired foyer, which keeps to the front’s intricate ironwork theme. The soaring ceilings of the living room offer plenty of room for an imposing stone mantle atop the fireplace, while dark chocolate hardwood offers a chic, contemporary feel.
In addition to a walk-in bar with marbled wood shelves and a brass foot rail, the family room also includes a fireplace, as well as a built-in media cabinet. A pair of islands in the kitchen offers plenty of space for chefs, who—with both formal and informal dining areas—will have options as to where meals are taken.
Outdoor amenities at the impressive five-bedroom include a saltwater swimming pool with a waterslide, a built-in barbecue, a lighted half basketball court and a fire pit.
Prior to the injury last year, Scandrick signed a $9.5 million extension with the Cowboys, bringing his total deal to $20 million through the 2019 season.
