Paris Barclay, the television director currently serving his second term as president of the Directors Guild of America, just listed his Los Angeles home for $1.795 million, according to reports.

Situated on a tree-lined street in the Valley Village area, the contemporary Mediterranean includes a cathedral window-adorned formal entry that leads to an open-plan living room with high ceilings, a fireplace and a second-story gallery behind a hand-wrought iron balcony.

Italian cabinets are nestled into the chef’s kitchen, which also includes a center island and granite countertops that bleed into the backsplash. Five bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a family room and a den/office can also be found in the 4,880-square-foot abode.

In the master suite, dark wood floors and a sitting area give a cozy feel, while the master bathroom includes a Jacuzzi tub and a glass-encased shower with Mediterranean tiling. The walk-in closet features dark wooden built-ins, and a private balcony with cinched railing also sits off the bedroom.

Barclay won’t be making much on the sale: he purchased the home about ten years ago for $1.65 million.

One of the busiest TV directors in Hollywood, he’s sat behind the camera for more than 150 episodes of over 50 separate shows. He twice won Primetime Emmys for his work on NYPD Blue and has also worked on Sons of Anarchy, The West Wing, Glee and The Good Wife.

This year he’s been tapped for installments of Scandal and Empire, as well as a pilot for Fox about the first ever woman in Major League Baseball. The pilot, entitled Pitch, is set to air September 22nd and stars Kylie Bunbury of ABC’s Twisted.
