The well-heeled Trump fan is in luck this week if he’d like to be The Donald’s next neighbor: this gorgeous Greek Revival-style mansion on North Rodeo Drive just hit the market, and it abuts one of the Republican presidential candidate’s many properties.
Constructed in 1981, the regal, two-story home features a wide, columned front with green-shuttered windows spread across the façade. At its center, double front doors sit beneath a decorative pediment.
The 15,000 square feet of interior space includes a marble-floored foyer with sweeping stairs and an opulent chandelier that opens to formal living and dining areas at the sides. In the carpeted living room, you’ll find a gold and black marble fireplace atop the subtly patterned wall-to-wall carpet, while the corresponding fireplace in the dining room keeps it clean with a pinkish marble.
A second living area looks out onto the backyard, which includes a long loggia, a swimming pool and a basketball/tennis court, while the kitchen is decked in white marble with a large center island and stainless steel appliances, opening onto an informal dining room that also takes in the backyard through a pair of French doors.
Other features include a home office, a second prep kitchen, a private elevator and a sauna. Trump’s residence next door cost the real estate magnate a reported $7 million in 2007. It sits on about a half an acre and includes 16 rooms, with five beds and six baths, within its 5,395 square feet of interior space.
The listed property was also owned by Trump for about a year. He purchased it in 2008 for $10.35 million before selling in 2009 for $9,500,095. Prior to his time with the property, it was the long-time home of Omar Bongo, the President of Gabon, who died in office shortly after unloading it.
