While many watches focus on difficult chronographs and tourbillons, there is one complication that has become en vogue in luxury watch brands of late: multiple time zone timepieces.
For Bulgari the answer is its new Hora Domus Dual Time Zone watch. Hora Domus, which is latin for “Home Time,” boasts a pink gold, double-ellipse-shaped case and comes with either a black or silver dial.
On the watch face are three hands, one for the minutes and two hour hands. Of the two hour hands, one indicates the time back home, and the other marks the local time, with the two being differentiated by different colors inset on the smaller hands of the watch.
There are also indicators on the top and bottom of the design with the name of the major city of each time zone, along with a season of the year, A.M. or P.M., a local city indication arrow, and a half circle highlighting the amount of day/night in the wearer’s home setting.
Bulgari’s in-house BVL 191 automatic powers the Hora Domus, and it even accommodates adjustments for daylight saving times, which is an important feature for multiple time zone watches.
Attached to either a brown or black alligator leather strap, the Hora Domus will be available in October of this year for around $40,000.
