One of California’s most recognizable architectural creations is now on the market. The iconic Boat House in the Coachella Valley is now available for $1.95 million.
Located roughly two hours from the Pacific Ocean and Los Angeles, from one side, the home closely resembles New York’s Flatiron building. However, it’s a bit more modern with walls of windows that reveal the desert landscape of nearby Palm Springs, California.
At 3,906 square feet, the glass-and-concrete home is truly one of a kind. Flanked by palms, the four-bedroom, five-bathroom estate was built in 1992 after being commissioned by racecar driver Jim Jeffords.
Award-winning architect Michael Johnson manned the project to develop the home’s unique triangle shape that’s reminiscent of the bow of a boat. However, instead of a deck, potential owners will find a beautiful matching triangle-shaped infinity pool.
In addition to its unusual shape, the home sports floor-to-ceiling windows, 24-foot ceilings, and ensuite bedrooms. Accents like marble and wood throughout and a master suite with a fireplace, skylight, and private deck complete the already-luxurious home.
