Since getting his start in the business as co-founder of LaFace Records, producer and music exec L.A. Reid has worked up to the head spot at Epic Records on the strength of his reputation for mega-sales, working on multi-platinum productions with artists like Bobby Brown, Boyz II Men, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Kanye West. Now the music industry kingmaker has a chrome and granite palace of his own, a Bel-Air contemporary that reportedly cost the Epic Chairman and CEO $17.99 million.

Among the ultra-luxe amenities at the modern mansion are soaring vaulted interiors, white oak floors, walls of black granite and glass and chrome accents.

Stunning ocean and city vistas are on display from the backyard, which includes a baja deck infinity pool, an outdoor kitchen with a bar and a second-level terrace with glass balcony. The sleek look continues indoors, where floating glass staircases and an elevator transport guests between the home’s three stories.

In addition to the seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, the 11,200-square-foot home offers a gym, a home office with plenty of built-in storage, and an enormous home theater with a bar, serviced by a 300-bottle wine vault. The open-plan living room includes a two-sided fireplace, while the formal dining area is distinguished by a contemporary chandelier. Bar seating is also available in the chef’s kitchen, which includes two separate islands and light wood cabinets.

The home was originally listed at $27.5 million when it hit the market last summer, and was most recently listed at $20 million.

Between LaFace and Epic, Reid served as Chairman and CEO at Island Def Jam Music Group for six years. His net worth is estimated at $300 million.
