Bugatti Releases Pictures of Alternate Chiron Concepts

At this year’s Geneva Auto Show, luxury automaker Bugatti unveiled its new Chiron concept. Now just a few months later, the brand has released several photos of what might have been.

The new Chiron is a more modest version of the Vision Gran Turismo concept, but the hypercar has still received plenty of awed respect. It appears that these new photos of what the Veyron’s successor could have looked like are sure to do the same.

Bugatti’s parent company Volkswagen actually held a contest for designs of the Veyron’s replacement, and several sketches were submitted. Sasha Selipanov, one of the designers of the Lamborghini Huracán, penned the winning design.

Selipanov’s creation sports a horseshoe-shaped grill and adds to it with pronounced horizontal vents on the front end complete with LED daytime running lights. The headlights might be the most creative addition though since they’re completely blacked-out and seamlessly integrated into the front vents.

The young designer has since been invited to join the design department full-time, and the model was redesigned with an updated front-end that replaced the blacked-out lights with ultra bright units, in addition to other subtle edits.
