The Malibu home of Simon Cowell protégé Sèbastien Izambard has just hit the market for $15.9 million. Izambard, of the multinational classical crossover group Il Divo, bought the four-plus acre property in 2011 for $4 million and has since completed considerable renovations on the main home, a whitewashed contemporary farmhouse first built in 1979.

Featuring dramatic chapel windows, an open chef’s kitchen with enormous center island and rustic antique wood accents playing off the light oak floors amid clean white interiors, the house is an elegant take on country styling. Other amenities include a number of skylights in the soaring Cathedral ceilings and bi-folding doors that open to grounds dotted with multiple levels of vegetable gardens, pebbled patio areas, playgrounds, a horse corral and a tennis court.

Counting a two-bedroom barn and the main guesthouse, the home includes 6,000 square feet of space, with eight bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms.

Simple white-painted wood beams serve as columns in the main home’s open living space and mesh with white beams in the slatted ceiling, while the barn has a vintage surfing theme, with surfboards serving as accents and a corrugated metal shower in the bathroom.

The master suite includes two sets of French doors and a picture window leading to an ample balcony, while rustic double doors lead to the main bathroom, which melds the farmhouse style with a clean, contemporary look, streamlining country-style legs on the dual sinks.

Izambard has released nine albums with Il Divo since Simon Cowell first assembled the group in 2004. In 2011, they were named “Artist of the Decade” at the Classic Brit Awards. Later this year, they’ll set out on the U.S. leg of their Amor & Pason tour.
