There are plenty of private jets in the skies; however, few are as high-tech and luxurious as Sukhoi’s new SportJet.
The SportJet isn’t simply for private travel but was actually created to transport sports teams. It features a variety of amenities ideal for traveling athletes.
One of those features is the inclusion of exercise bikes and massage tables so athletes don’t lose precious training time. Sukhoi claims that it actually used modern scientific and practical sports science research to develop the unique plane. In fact, the design was developed with factors like dehydration, jet lag, and hypoxia in mind.
“In elite sports, where fractions of seconds and inches are of decisive importance, every detail matters in affecting the shape of the athlete,” said Sukhoi senior vice president Evgeny Andrachnikov.
“Today, to achieve the best results you need new technology and approaches, including those that increase the flight quality and, hence, the physique and morale of athletes. We are sure that flights for professional sports teams on SportJets will eventually become an integral part of the air transportation market,” Andrachnikov said.
Additional amenities include individual multimedia screens and an onboard AeroScan diagnostics capsule that has sensors built into the seat to allow for mid-flight health checks.
Set to be released in 2018, the SportJet is also divided into four separate zones: one for the sports team, one for the coaching staff, an area for the medical team, and the last is for other plane staff.
