Last season, Reggie Bush suffered a much-covered fluke injury on the sidelines of the St. Louis Rams’ playing field. It ended his season early and led to his release from the San Francisco 49ers. The former two-time All-American and Heisman trophy-winner is still looking for a new NFL home, but at least he’s finally unloaded the Prairie Modern he occupied while playing for the Detroit Lions. The Birmingham, Michigan house recently sold for a reported $1.9 million.

Built in 1998, the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half bath home had been on the market, originally at a price of $2.495 million, since Bush left Michigan for the Golden State last summer. Its 8,000 square feet of interior space include formal living and dining areas, a lower level recreation room with wet bar, a game room and media center, and a floating wood staircase with a framed glass railing.

Other features of the home include open-plan living areas, black marble and hardwood flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows and a kitchen with a black granite center island, stainless appliances and elongated steel hardware on the light wood cabinets.

In the backyard, a multi-level patio and separate, second-floor terrace and glass-encased sunroom overlook the swimming pool and offer a peaceful forest view, while the front includes a large driveway loop dotted with Michigan birches.

While the slate gray façade and interior accents make for a sleek contemporary feel, we imagine Bush is happy to unload all that brutalist stone after complaining of the “concrete ring of death” that caused his season-ending meniscus tear last year.
