The former Los Angeles home of Errol Flynn, famous for playing swashbuckling heroes during Hollywood’s Golden Age, has been sold for $3.875 million.

Flynn was the first in a series of celebrity owners for the Hollywood Hills West residence, including perennial Hollywood Squares central square Paul Lynde, and co-owners Moby—the DJ and songwriter—and Deanna Berkeley—head of New York-based clothing company Alice and Olivia.

First built in 1926, the home is now fashioned in the Hollywood Regency style thanks to a redesign during Lynde’s tenure as owner. Architect-to-the-stars John Elgin Woolf, a Hollywood Regency pioneer, renovated the 3,700-square-foot pad in the 1950s.

Featuring three bedrooms and five bathrooms, the home’s many luxe amenities include a domed cabana, a trapezoidal swimming pool, a guesthouse and three terraces.

Inside, the house features soaring 12-foot ceilings, silver-leaf wood floors, arched French doors, a marble fireplace and a gorgeous view of the downtown Los Angeles skyline. The master suite takes up the entire second floor, and the home also includes antique mirrors, a number of crystal chandeliers, Palladian columns, a marble-lined gym and two La Cornue ranges in the chef’s kitchen.

Moby and Berkeley purchased the house for $2.95 million in 2008, leasing it for a number of years before selling for their exact purchase price.

The $3.875 million it fetched in the most recent deal represents a bit of a drop from the $5.95 million asking price, which would be at least the second time the home had gone for less than asking. When Berkeley and Moby sold in 2013, they had originally hoped to get $3.695 million.
