Last month, we reported that Parker Posey had put her one-bedroom Manhattan co-op on the market for $1.45 million. This month, we’re reporting that the adorable Fifth Avenue pad has entered contract at its full asking price.
The “Queen of the Indies,” known for her roles in quirky, relatively low-budget films like Party Girl and Henry Fool, can be seen casually reading to her dog Gracie in the listing photos.
While the 850-square-foot home may be short on space, it’s long on charm, with open bookshelves, snakeskin backsplashes, beamed ceilings, original hardwood flooring, a trio of walk-in closets and tasteful chandeliers in the kitchen and bedroom.
The co-op also includes top-of-the-line appliances from Viking, Miele and SubZero and open views of Fifth Ave. and 10th Street. It’s located right between Union Square and Washington Square Parks in New York’s Greenwich Village and offers convenient subway access at the NYU, Broadway-Lafayette and Union Square stations.
Housed within one of lower Manhattan’s many pre-war buildings—first constructed in 1923 and converted into a co-op in 1970—the unit includes full services, with a live-in superintendent and a 24-hour doorman.
The actress first purchased the sixth-floor home in 2008 for $1.35 million, a mere $10,000 under her eventual sale price.
Posey appeared recently in Woody Allen’s Café Society and will reunite with Christopher Guest, with whom she worked on Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman and A Mighty Wind, later this year for another mockumentary: Netflix’s Mascots.
