Classic English luxury vehicles were once almost exclusively designed with the help of independent coachbuilders, but that time is long gone. Yet the spirit remains. Bentley called in Mulliner, the automaker’s personal commissioning department, to work its magic and create the Bentley Bentayga Fly Fishing Edition vehicle.
The Mulliner workshop’s creation honors the art and hobby of fly fishing. The luxury customer acknowledges the level of skill and patience necessary for both the sport and the crafting of high-end vehicles.
Mulliner’s newest custom sports four rods held in tubes that are trimmed in saddle leather with linen cross stitching. These tubes are built directly into the floor and are set underneath the tackle station.
Fishers will enjoy shelves covered in hand-cut veneers of Burr Walnut and a refreshment station filled with three metal flasks and Mulliner fine china. There’s also a waterproof storage box and a retractable cover to protect the paint on the rear of the SUV.
Pricing has yet to be revealed for the special river-ready, twelve-cylinder SUV complete with a tackle box. The fish might even gather just to admire the beautiful craftsmanship of the luxury vehicle, but that’s a theory customers will have to test for themselves.
