Bristol was once one of the many British automobile manufacturers that just didn’t make the cut, but now thanks to investors pouring pounds into the formerly defunct brand, it is set to make a comeback with a new V8 convertible model.
The new Bristol roadster will likely be dubbed the Bullet and was first unveiled at the recent 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed under the pseudonym Project Pinnacle.
Bristol and an uncredited Italian design firm have given the Bullet a retro design, complete with bulging front fenders, a lean grill, and round headlights, and the back side of the convertible will come with a pair of fins flowing from the quarter panels.
A German engine will actually power the new Bristol Bullet, with a naturally aspirated 4.4-liter V8 sourced from BMW giving the new car a rear-wheel drive. History sides with the decision seeing as the first-ever Bristol car built all the way back in 1947 borrowed a bevy of pieces and parts featuring BMW parts numbers.
The Bullet is expected to go into production early sometime next year.
