Five-time Grammy nominee Robert James Ritchie, better known as Kid Rock, has put his Balinese-inspired mansion back on the market at a reduced rate. The compound, which features a five-bedroom five-bath main house, was originally listed with an asking price of $13.45 million is now up for sale at $10.995 million.
Amenities in the home include a gym, sauna, home office, a three-car garage, tropically landscaped backyard with a canopy of privacy hedges, a guest house overlooking the patio and its built-in barbecue, and a swimming pool with outdoor shower.
Those familiar with the rocker’s hillbilly image might be shocked at the tasteful elegance of the “Bawitdaba” singer’s 8,300-square-foot home, with its airy open floor plan, seamless indoor-outdoor transition and a neutral palette of whites and dark woods.
“I wanted a place that was comfortable and fun, where I could kick back, write music and hang out with friends. But it also had to be a house that was well-built — something with quality,” Rock told the L.A. Times Magazine not long after he purchased the home in 2006 for $11.6 million.
The front entrance includes intricately carved wooden doors and matching pillars, with the hand-carved wooden theme carried through the house, from the columns, doors and beams in the living area to the extravagant mantel in the main area and ornate wooden wall panels in the master bath, which also features a gabled ceiling and picture windows. A double-sided fireplace in the main area divides living space from the well-appointed chef’s kitchen and dining room.
