The son of the founders of Sbarro pizza is hoping to earn $32 million from the sale of his newly built Southampton home.
Anthony Sbarro’s home has been completely customized down to the detailed furnishings like a silk rug depicting a map of the area. Sbarro began building the traditional-style, 14,000-square-foot home a year ago and decided to continue the process of furnishing the home before listing it.
Italian designer and architect Achille Salvagni hand-picked the artwork, fabrics, and furniture for the luxuriously designed home and had them shipped in straight from Rome. Several of the pieces were also custom-designed by Salvagni, including the hand-woven Southampton map rug and bronze door handles.
The nine-bedroom home is set on nearly 2 acres with a tennis court and a swimming pool on the grounds. It also features a mirrored ballet room, a gym, and a 15-seat movie theater.
Sbarro, 70, is now retired from the family business, and the former pizza businessman also owns homes in Palm Beach, Florida; Northport, New York; and New York City.
