Relatively new watchmaker Kerbedanz surprised the watch world at Baselworld 2016, making a watch that shows off just how one-of-a-kind their timepieces are.
Kedbedanz’s Polvs Arcticus Double Tourbillon GMT is a piece made to commemorate “the age of discovery” and “celebrate the scientists and explorers of the past and offer a view of astronomy, maritime horizons and technical feats.”
The Swiss brand makes 100 watches or fewer per year, which means every watch to come from the Neuchâtel-based maker involves a lot of dedicated craftsmanship.
Kedbedanz has given the Polvs Arcticus a 341-part, manually wound movement that features both a northern and southern tourbillon. And if the internal complication isn’t beautiful enough, the 50 mm external case, made from white gold and decked out with 6.27 carats of diamonds, is even more eye-catching.
Like many of Kedbedanz’s watches, the Polvs Arcticus Double Tourbillon GMT is a one-off. It comes with a $700,000 price tag.
