Naoto Fukasawa’s Déjà-Vu chair is a polished aluminum-, plastic-, or wood-backed chair that achieves a contemporary yet vintage feel and fits in any environment.

Paired with Fukasawa’s Déjà-Vu stools, the new chair serves as both a statement piece and a functional piece of furniture.

With the two Déjà-Vu items Fukasawa has completed exactly what he believes good design does by playing into people’s subconscious.

“People think that design is something that appeals to their emotions, but in fact, people are linked to things every day in their environments, unconsciously, without even being aware of it,” Fukasawa has stated. “This ‘unthinking’ state makes actions smooth. whereas, if we think closely about what we’re doing, our actions become awkward or wooden.”
