Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing have joined forces to create a brand new hypercar dubbed the AM-RB 001.
The one-of-a-kind road worthy vehicle is the result of a rare combination of experience between one of the most competitive Formula One teams and one of the best-known car makers in the world.
Red Bull and Aston Martin’s AM-RB 001 has been designed to be used as a road car, but is also intended to impress on the track.
The AM-RB 001 utilizes a carbon fiber structure and well-engineered aerodynamics that creates levels of downforce unseen in any other road-legal car before it. Aston Martin’s David King and his team at Gaydon, the facility that the British automaker built specifically for its original hypercar, the One-77, are in charge of the AM-RB 001 build.
While more specifications are still on the way, it is known that the power source for the AM-RB 001 is a mid-mounted, V12 engine that has enough power to earn a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio of 1 hp per kilogram.
Deliveries of the AM-RB 001 are set to begin in 2018, with Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing set to make between 99 and 150 road-going examples and 25 track-only editions.
