Photos of Porsche’s second-generation Panamera sedan have been leaked before the official debut of the model.
The pictures reveal finesse changes to the front end, such as new headlights and a reshaped bumper. The major changes come to the rear of the car, where Porsche’s designers have done away with the unpopular hunchback-style rear and replaced it with a clearer roofline that more closely resembles a 911 than Quasimodo.
Porsche has also said it will create a family-friendly station wagon from the Panamera line, a first for the German brand. This wagon will look a lot like the Sport Turismo concept the company revealed at the 2012 Paris Auto Show.
Another first coming with the new Panamera is a twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V8 engine that pumps out 558 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque.
There will also be a few more power options for customers in the lineup, including a more powerful version of the above V8, a V6 edition, and a plug-in hybrid drivetrain version. Porsche will also give the new Panamera a turbodiesel engine option or two, but those will not be coming stateside.
The new Panamera will make its official debut at the 2016 Paris Auto Show this fall and will be introduced as the 2017 model year for the sedan.
