Switzerland-based Kyburz is a company that specializes in electric vehicles for industrial businesses. In fact, it began as a manufacturer of mobility vehicles for the elderly until it began making delivery vehicles in 2002.

Now, Kyburz is making its first venture into sports cars with three models of the eRod that were unveiled at the recent Geneva Motor Show.

The first version of the eRod, the Basic, features a 10-kWh battery that has a range of just over 40 miles connected to a 60-horsepower motor that can push the vehicle to a top speed of 75 mph.

The next eRod model is the Fun, which comes with a bit more range but about the same performance levels. A larger 17.3-kWh battery gives the Fun almost double the range for a total traveling distance of 80 miles. The Fun has the same top speed as its eRod sibling.

Last is the Race, which, like its name, is much faster than the two lower range eRod models. The Race comes with a 39-kWh battery that is a 324-volt unit instead of the 96-volt power sources found on the other two versions. This larger battery features a 137-mile range and its bigger 201-hp motor comes with a top speed of 87 mph.

The Fun costs about $33,500, but future owners can cut $11,100 off the price by building it themselves. The Race will set potential customers back $108,000.
