Mexican automaker VUHL recently took its 05RR over land and sea to make the car’s debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.
VUHL revealed the previous version of the 05 at Goodwood two years ago, and this year’s 05RR comes to Lord March’s Drive lighter and 25 percent more powerful.
The 05RR was part of Goodwood’s Michelin Supercar Paddock, with the VUHL car boasting Michelin Cup 2 tires wrapped around ultra-lightweight carbon fiber wheels. The new VUHL also features a carbon fiber body with a hybrid aluminum-carbon monocoque trim.
VUHL equipped the 05RR with a 2.3-liter Ecoboost engine that makes 385 horsepower, which is a 100 hp increase from the original 05. The 600 hp-per-ton spec the 05RR earns is better than the Ferrari F12 tdf, McLaren P1 and the Bugatti Veyron.
The 05RR sprints zero-to-62 mph in just 2.7 seconds and maxes out at 160 mph.
“The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a Mecca for performance car aficionados and the perfect place to reveal the stunning new 05RR,” VUHL Technical Director Iker Echeverria said. “We’ve upgraded this car in every area to make it faster, more engaging and more aggressive.”
