The ranch-style house in a sought-after area of La Cañada Flintridge belonging to filmmaker Gore Verbinski has sold for $2.75 million to a high-ranking creative and marketing executive for the Walt Disney Company.

Located about 30 minutes north of Downtown Los Angeles, the 4,600-square-foot, multi-wing house was built in the 1940s and is situated on a 1.2-acre parcel.

The home holds a pair of master suites, three additional guest rooms, and 4.5 bathrooms. Also inside is a vaulted exposed wood ceiling, informal and formal dining rooms, a family room, a study, and a modernized kitchen with black soapstone countertops and white subway tile backsplashes.

Verbinski made a nice little profit on the sale after he only paid $1.14 million for the home in 1999.

The director of the first three “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies and an Academy Award winner for his animated action-comedy movie “Rango,” also owns a larger home in the La Cañada Flintridge area that he purchased in 2004 for $4.2 million.
