Advancements in drone technology in recent years have been quite impressive. However, it’s still incredibly difficult to capture usable video footage on a racetrack when cars are zooming at speeds above 100 mph.

To say the least, finding the perfect angle can be nearly impossible. Now with the advent of drone photography, more and more photographers are turning to the tech to capture stunning, unobstructed shots. Yet, many devices are still too slow to keep up with race cars.

Now Nissan’s new drone improves on this idea with its GT-R Drone. In partnership with World Drone Prix champs Tornado XBlades Racing, one of the fastest First Person View devices has been created.

The average top speed of a high-quality quadcopter is around 40-50 mph, but the GT-R can reach speeds as fast as 115 mph thanks to a powerful 1400mAh lithium polymer battery that powers four 2000kV XNova motors.

Other features like the low-drag canopy and the ability to speed from zero-to-60 mph in only 1.3 seconds make the GT-R perfect for capturing photos on the track.

To display the drone’s strength, Nissan put the machine to work filming their new 2017 GT-R vehicle on the Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire, United Kingdom. The film quality and clarity of capture truly speak for themselves.
