Swan Song For the Viper: In Car’s Final Year, Dodge Offers Five Limited Editions

2016 is a special year for Dodge and its popular Viper model. It will serve as both the 25th anniversary of the Viper and will also be the final year the American car maker produces the sports car. The end of an era will be marked with five limited-edition models.

Each of the five special Vipers will be completely customizable with 50 million possible configuration options and a special panel badge with the model name and the option to engrave the owner’s name as well.

Here are the five special models:

Viper 1:28 Edition ACR—This edition celebrates the 1:28.65 lap time Randy Pobst set in 2015 at the Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California. The 1:28 will come with a black paint job with red ACR stripes and include the Extreme Aero Package, Carbon Ceramic brakes, and of course special badging and stitching. This version of the Viper will be limited to 28 editions.

Viper GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR—The GTS-R Commemorative edition will boast the iconic white and blue color combination that came out in 1998 and is one of the most desired paint schemes in Viper history. This model will also feature the Extreme Aero Package, the Exterior Carbon Package, and special decals. Dodge will limit the GTS-R Commemorative Edition to 100 units.

Viper VoooDoo II Edition ACR—This unique vehicle is designed after the 2010 Viper VooDoo and will be limited to only 31 examples. The VooDoo has a black exterior finished with a graphite metallic driver’s stripe and red tracer outlining.

Viper Snakeskin Edition GTC —Dodge has given this edition snakeskin green paint with a snakeskin-patterned SRT stripe to complete the snakeskin motif from tip to trunk. Added extras include the Advanced Aerodynamics Package and a GT black interior. Only 25 of the Snakeskin Edition GTC will be produced.

Dodge Dealer Edition ACR—Dodge will honor its two top dealerships with the opportunity to offer a special edition of the Viper that will boast a Viper White finish with Competition Blue and Adrenaline Red stripes. Tomball Dodge in Tomball, Texas, and Roanoke Dodge of Roanoke, Illinois, are the two lucky dealers.

Pricing and release dates have yet to be unveiled.
