The most expensive home on the Montreal-area resale market and the former home of superstar singer Céline Dion just sold for $25.5 million.

Located near Laval, the castle has been available for more than two years after going on the market in 2013 with a $29,655,500 price tag. The listing sported such a unique price because five was the lucky number of Dion and her late husband, René Angélil.

Since Angélil’s death this year after a long battle with cancer, Dion must surely see the sale as timely as she aims to move on and raise the couple’s three children.

The beautiful six-bedroom, nine-bath chateau sports a French Normand aesthetic and is located on its own private island between Boisbriand and Laval called Ile Gagnon. Some of the luxurious features inside include a fireplace with a decorative mantle, an elegant staircase leading to a soaking tub, and impressive double-height ceilings.
